  • This compo is for Amiga 1200/4000 060 or older hardware
  • Other platforms (C64, Atari, SNES, etc.) are also allowed – bring your own hardware!
  • If your entry does not run on the Amiga configurations we provide you will have to bring your own device AND the proper cables to hook up to our video setup. Contact us if you have any questions!
  • There must be at least 3 entries or the compo will be merged with the regular demo compo.

Attention oldschool and exotic-hardware demo makers!

For “exotic” hardware such as SNES, C64, Ataris and whatnot: bring your own devices!

Oldschool video signal -> HDMI information

For oldschool hardware, we’re using a Framemeister or Extron DSC 301 HD in order to scale and convert analog video signals to digital signals.

Input options of the Framemeister are (starting with the best quality):

  • D-Terminal (used in Japanese consoles)
  • Scart/RGB
  • S-video
  • Composite

Very importantly: The Framemeister does not like resolution changes during display, which will break the signal for a few seconds. An example of this would be switching between interlaced and non-interlaced mode on Amiga.

Input options of the Extron DSC 301 HD are (starting with the best quality):

  • RGB (15pin VGA)
  • BNC/Composite

We’ve tested resolution changes on the Extron – and it works pretty decent!

  • We have cabling for Amigas to provide best possible quality via the Framemeister and Extron DSC 301 HD.
  • For other hardware as e.g. C64, please bring S-video cable
  • Last resort is using composite – which does provide a decent image quality via the Framemeister
